OUR EVENT
The Giddings New Horizons Lions Brain Power Five & Dime includes a 5K Run/Walk and a 10K Run. Run or walk in memory of a loved one or in honor of someone currently struggling with this disease. Funds raised this year will be donated to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation which focuses on research. Our 2012 run raised over $4700.00 for the Fisher Center.

Cash prizes will be awarded to top male and top female finishers - 1st - 3rd, Overall 5K & 10K

Age Categories: 12&under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
This is a chip timed event. Race results will be available on site and online.
RACE DETAILS
The event will begin and end at the Giddings Municipal Golf Course located off of James Turman Road - Lee County Road 226. If necessary overflow parking will be available at the Giddings Livestock Commission located on County Road 226.
Both the 5 and 10K routes traverse the county roads near the golf course, just east of Giddings. We run rain or shine. Water stops will be located at strategic points along the course. Sag vehicles will monitor the course with water and Gatorade, refreshments will be available at the finish line.
Refreshments for participants will be provided before, during and after the race. 10K runners will start promptly at 8 A.M. 5K runners and walkers will start shortly thereafter.
Registration will be available online (until 2 P.M. on Sept. 26) and by mailing in the registration form posted below. Participants may also register on race day. Only participants who pre-register by September 14, 2013 will be guaranteed a race t-shirt. Race day registration will be handled inside the meeting hall at the golf course.

Packet pickup will begin Friday, September 27th at Ramada of Giddings from 4:00 P.M. - 6:30 P.M. Ramada is located at the corner of Highway 290 & James Turman Road. Race day packet pick-up will be Saturday, September 28th beginning at 7:00 A.M. at the Giddings Municipal Golf Course. On race day all pre-registered participants can pickup their packets outside at one of two designated tables.
